WKCTC Community Education Offerings Still Available for August

MEDIA RELEASE: PADUCAH, KY (08/11/2017) West Kentucky Community and Technical College still has several community education offerings available this month.

Classes are listed as follows.

Photographic Fundamentals
August 22-September 19, 6 - 8 p.m.
Emerging Technology Center, Room 214

This is a popular class meets five consecutive Tuesday evenings. Instructor Jim Ethridge teaches the basic of making a great photograph! The class covers topic like camera types, aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, composition, posing, lighting and how they work together to produce a beautiful photography. A local field trip is planned to test your skills. Bring a camera to class. Digital cameras are recommended; no point and shoot cameras. teaches the basics. Cost: $100.

Who's in the Kitchen with Chef Jessi Donaldson - Fit to be Thai'd
August 24, 6 - 8 p.m.
Kitchens Café, 905 Harrison Street

This class will leave participants Fit to be Thai'd! During this evening, they will make (and enjoy) Tom Kha Goong: Shrimp and Coconut Milk Soup; Larb Moo: Thai Pork Salad and Lemongrass Chicken. Cost: $45.

Hand and Machine Sewing Basics
August 25 - 26, 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
PSAD's 2D and Graphic Design Building, 905 Harrison Street, Room 205

During this all-day workshop, participants will learn hand and machine sewing, repairing, decorating and finishing techniques from Instructor Pam Heavrin. Cost: $90. Additional material fee: $15; pay to instructor.

Marbling on Paper
August 25 - 26, 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
PSAD's 2D and Graphic Design Building, 905 Harrison Street, Room 205

During this all-day workshop, participants will learn the historic forms of marbling to create their own unique work of art with Instructor Charlotte Erwin. Cost: $95. Additional material fee: $45; pay to instructor.

Preregistration is required for all classes and early registration is encouraged. The registration deadline is seven days prior to class starting date. Classes may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment. Register online at ws.kctcs.edu/westkentucky or by calling 270-534-3335.
