Seventh Chapter in U.S. to Join Honorary for Two-year Colleges

MEDIA ADVISORY: PADUCAH, KY (04/23/2018) West Kentucky Community and Technical College is establishing a chapter of the National Hispanic Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi's Sociedad Honoraria de la Lengua Española to become the seventh chapter in the United States to join the respected honorary for two-year colleges.

WKCTC will induct eligible students into the honor society Thursday, April 26 from 2-3 p.m. in the Student Government Association lounge, located in the college's Student Center.

The organization recognizes students in two-year colleges that excel in the study of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture. Students are encouraged to acquire a deeper understanding of Hispanic culture and to advocate friendship between nations of Hispanic and English speech.

Dr. Mark P. Del Mastro, executive director of Sigma Delta Pi and professor of Spanish at the College of Charleston, will send greetings to the new charter via You Tube.
