WHO:

• Illinois State Military Museum Living History Detachment

• Illinois National Guard and Militia Historical Society

WHAT: Living Historians will display uniforms and equipment of Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors and Marines who served during World War II and discuss how servicemembers lived and fought the war in the Pacific and European theatres. Guest speaker Jim Opolony will tell how the Soldiers of Company B, 192nd Tank Battalion of Maywood fought in the Philippines and survived as POWs of the Japanese.

WHEN:

• 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 27, 2015

• Guest Speaker Jim Opolony's presentations are at 1 and 2:30 p.m.

WHERE:

• Illinois State Military Museum, 1301 N. MacArthur Blvd, Springfield, Ill., 62702, two blocks north of the intersection of MacArthur Blvd. and North Grand Ave.
