War Hawks Swimmers Honored by CollegeSwimming.com

McMurry University swimmers Robyn Remschel and Jerick Pena have been named as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) women's and men's Swimmer of the Week, respectively, by the league office. Both had outstanding weekends at a pair of events in Conway, Ark.

At the Hendrix Classic on Saturday, the senior Remschel had a pair of wins on the women's side. Remschel won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.35 seconds, before taking the 200-yard backstroke (2:10.74). Pena, a junior, was golden in the 200 IM (2:01.78), as well as in the 200 backstroke (2:03.42).

Both were also a part of 400-freestyle relays, which finished second in their divisions.

In Friday's Hendrix Relays, Remschel swam on three of McM's four winning entries for McMurry. Remschel led War Hawks gold in the 300-backstroke relay, the 400-freestyle relay and the 400-medley relay.

The McM men won three races at the Hendrix Relays - 500-freestyle relay, 200-freestyle relay and 300-backstroke relay - with Pena handling a leg on each.
