Washington's Yashna Khadgi earns two accounting scholarships at East Central University

Yashna Khadgi, of Washington, Oklahoma, was the recipient of the Dr. Barbara McKinzie Centennial Accounting Scholarship and the William Chapman Centennial Accounting Scholarship during East Central University's recent Harland C. Stonecipher School of Business Scholarship and Awards Banquet. The Dr. Barbara McKinzie Centennial Accounting Scholarship is awarded to fulltime ECU students who are employed by the Stonecipher School of Business as student employees. Preference is also given to those with the greatest financial need for the scholarship at the time of the award. Preference is also given to those with a 3.0 grade-point average or higher and classification of junior or senior. The recipient is selected by the Stonecipher School of Business Scholarship Committee or their designee. This scholarship is funded by Lynda K. Simpson, who has a long history with ECU and is thankful for the education she received from the School of Business. Bertha and Myrtle Sturdevant were professors in Business Education. The William Chapman Centennial Accounting Scholarship is awarded to a senior-level accounting student wo has maintained a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and a minimum 3.5 GPA in accounting. This award was originated by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Parker in honor of Dr. William Chapman, longtime faculty member in the Accounting Department.
