Waukesha native Holly Lesperance named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week

The sophomore forward at Lake Forest College scored four goals in a game at Ripon.

LAKE FOREST, IL (10/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College women's soccer player Holly Lesperance (Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha South) was named Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Monday for her performance in the Foresters 5-3 victory at Ripon College on Saturday.

Lesperance, a sophomore forward, recorded her first career hat trick less than 30 minutes into the game. She was in the right place at the right time on the first score when a clearing attempt by a Ripon defender caromed off her and into the goal at the 8:24 mark. She added tallies at 22:04 and 29:04 to give the Foresters a 3-0 lead.

Ripon, however, came back and tied the game in the second half. After the visitors regained the lead with less than 20 minutes to play, Lesperance added an insurance goal, her fourth score of the game, at 81:29.

Lesperance, who entered the weekend with three goals on the season, is the sixth player in program history to score as many as four goals in a single game. The last was current senior Becky Esrock, who also accomplished the feat at Ripon in September of 2009.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director.
