West Bank Photography Stirs Emotions
'Behind the Walls' Exhibit Opens Sept. 10 at Elizabethtown College

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (08/25/2010)(readMedia)-- "Behind the Walls," an exhibit featuring emotionally stirring digital photographs by Dr. Gene Ann Behrens, associate professor of music and coordinator of music therapy at Elizabethtown College, opens Sept. 10. The photos were taken during the two months Behrens was in Bethlehem in the West Bank, where she worked as a music therapist with children traumatized by the on-going conflict to develop their emotional coping skills.
The Fine Arts Division of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts hosts an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10. A discussion with Dr. Behrens also will take place at 6 p.m.
The exhibit, open to the public, is in the Hess Gallery of Zug Memorial Hall, at Elizabethtown College, and continues through Oct. 16.
