West Des Moines Cook Wins State Fair Honors

DES MOINES, IA (08/16/2018) (readMedia)-- Rebecca Howe of West Des Moines won first place and a $100 gift card in the Mrs. Bonser's Noodles Creations competition judged Saturday, August 11, at the 2018 Iowa State Fair.

Pamela Lang of Johnston earned second place and a $50 gift card. Holly Houg of Urbandale claimed third place and a $25 gift card.

Judges also awarded Honorable mention to Belinda Myers of Osceola.

Entries were judged on taste.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 171 divisions, 727 classes and over 9,574 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny Ice Cream.
