Westwood resident Andrew Wolff wins outstanding student achievement awards at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, CT (05/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Andrew Wolff, a senior at Connecticut College, was awarded the following awards:

• Professor Lester Reiss Prize, for excellence in metaphysics, epistemology and/or the philosophy of religion, areas of passionate interest to the late Lester Reiss, Professor of Philosophy

• Senior Julia Wells Bower Prize, for distinction in mathematics offered by an anonymous donor in honor of Julia Wells Bower, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics

Wolff was presented with the awards at the annual Honors and Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on April 27.

Wolff, a resident of Westwood and a 2007 graduate of Westwood High School, is the son of Karen and David Swan of Westwood.

At the ceremony, Timo V. Ovaska, Hans and Ella McCollum '21 Vahlteich Professor of Chemistry, gave the keynote address. Dean of the College Community Armando Bengochea and Dean of the Faculty Roger Brooks also congratulated the students.
