Wheaton College (Ill.) Anderson Park selected as CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Thunder sophomore Anderson Park was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week by the conference office.

Park was 3-0 at No. 1 singles for the Thunder last weekend with wins against Grinnell, UW-Whitewater and Ohio Wesleyan. He defeated Grinnell's Bowen Mince 6-2, 6-3 on Friday. On Saturday he topped Ohio Wesleyan's Jack Hibbard 6-4, 6-1 and UW-Whitewater's Jimmy Engelhart 4-6, 6-1, 10-5 to move to 4-0 on the season. Park and teammate Alex Winter won their doubles match at the No. 2 position against UW-Whitewater, beating Robert Rider and Noah Guillermo 8-7 (7-4).

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
