Wheaton College (Ill.) Aston Francis named the CCIW Player of the Week in men's basketball

Senior guard Aston Francis was named this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week in men's basketball by the conference office.

Francis averaged 29.5 points per game last week, as Wheaton won a pair of CCIW games at home. The senior contributed 6.5 rebounds per game, with five assists per contests in Wheaton's two wins. Francis shot 44% (11-of-25) from three-point range and 87.5% (12-of-14) at the free throw line.

Francis registered a "double-double" with 31 points and 10 rebounds last Wednesday in a 77-57 victory against Carthage in Wheaton's King Arena. He made five three-pointers, distributed seven assists and added two steals in the victory against the Red Men. On Saturday, he scored 28 points on 60% (9-of-15) shooting from the field in a 79-61 victory against Carroll. Francis made six three-pointers in the win against the Pioneers. He added three assists and snagged two steals in the victory against Carroll.

Francis leads NCAA Division III in scoring with an average of 31.1 points per game.
