Wheaton College (Ill.) Devin Kyler named CCIW Player of the Week in women's basketball

Senior forward Devin Kyler is this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Player of the Week in women's basketball.

Kyler averaged 16.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game for Wheaton in the opening week, helping lead the Thunder to a 2-0 record. Kyler shot 50% (10-of-20) from the field and 78.6% (11-of-14) at the free throw line. Wheaton defeated Macalester 76-62 in the opening round of the Beth Baker Classic and the Thunder won the tournament with an 81-72 victory in the championship game against Hanover College.

In Wheaton's win against Macalester, Kyler led the Thunder with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting (57.1%) from the field with two three-pointers. She also added nine rebounds, three blocked shots, three assists and three steals in a well-rounded performance in the win against Macalester. In the win against Hanover, she scored 11 points with five rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
