Wheaton College (Ill.) Favor Ezewuzie named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week & CCIW Athlete of the Week in women's Track and Field

Wheaton College junior Favor Ezewuzie received a pair of weekly awards as she was named National Athlete of the Week by USTFCCCA and named CCIW Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Ezewuzie won the title in four individual events last Saturday at the Wheaton Invitational. She set a new school record in winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.94 seconds and also won the 100-meter dash in 12.13-seconds. Ezewuzie also posted first-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (14.58) and the long jump (5.66 meters/18' 7"). Additionally, she helped the Thunder 4x100 relay squad to a first place finish with a time of 48.12-seconds.

Ezewuzie is currently ranked third in Division III the 100-meter dash. She is fifth in Division III in the 200-meter dash, 100-meter hurdles and the women's long jump. She is the only competitor in Division III women's track & field that is ranked in the top-5 of four different individual events.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
