Wheaton College (Ill.) Isaac Odell is named the CCIW Wrestler of the Week

Wheaton junior Isaac Odell has each been the first College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Wrestler of the Week.

Odell is the first wrestler to earn the recognition for the 2018-19 season. This selection marks the second time that Odell has earned the award, also picking up the recognition on December 12, 2018.

Odell opened the 2018-19 season with a 4-0 record and the 184-pound individual title at the Messiah Invitational last Saturday. He recorded four pins in the tournament and none of his matches went to a second period. His combined pin time for the four matches was just over eight minutes. Odell pinned Ursinus' Malcolm Hunt (2:03) in the first round and he recorded a pin of Liberty's Wallace Canada just 1:08 into their quarterfinal match. Odell's pin of Messiah's Brian Shermeyer was at the 3:00 mark of their semifinal match. His final pin of the day came against Gettysburg's Daniel Ebert at 2:08 of the championship match at 184-pounds.
