Wheaton College (Ill.) Isaac Odell wins CCIW wrestling Championship at 184-pounds

Thunder junior Isaac Odell won the conference title at 184-pounds.

He opened the tournament with a fall just 1:18 into his in first-round match against Sebastian Zaragoza of Elmhurst. Odell won a 9-4 decision against Millikin's Griffin Meeker in the semifinal. The Thunder junior picked up his first career conference championship with a 1-0 decision against against Cody Baldridge of North Central in the championship match. Odell picked up the win on an escape just six seconds into the second period to take a 1-0 lead and he hung on to earn the 1-0 decision.

Wheaton College sponsors 21 varsity sports, and Thunder teams compete at the NCAA Division III level. The Thunder Athletics program has won five NCAA Division III Championships since 1984, and Wheaton student-athletes have won 31 Division III individual National Championships all-time.
