Wheaton College (Ill.) Sarah Tomich named CCIW Defensive Player of the Year

Wheaton sophomore Sarah Tomich was named the CCIW Defensive Player of the Year in women's soccer.

Tomich earns the first CCIW Defensive Player of the Year award, in the first season that the conference has handed out an offensive and defensive award. The sophomore was honored as the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week three times this season, most in the league. Tomich, a Second Team All-CCIW selection last year, is a First Team honoree this season. She has started every match for the Thunder this season with two goals to her credit. She played in all eight CCIW matches for the Thunder and both of her goals this year came in conference play.
