ANNVILLE, PA (11/16/2012)(readMedia)-- The Wig and Buckle Theater Company at Lebanon Valley College will host a showcase on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. in Leedy Theater of the Mund College Center. A suggested $5 donation will support the company's theatrical endeavors; admission is open to the public.
The showcase will feature more than 20 student performers and faculty advisor Dr. Kevin Pry, associate professor of English. It is under the direction of Jenna Parrilla '14, a music education and music double major from Hillsborough, N.J.
The showcase selections are from a variety of musicals, and are sure to present an enjoyable evening of music. Selections include "Adelaide's Lament," "All I Ask of You," "Come to Your Senses," "Bring Him Home," "Pulled," "Make Our Garden Grown," "You'll Never Walk Alone," "It's Hard to Speak My Heart," "Diva's Lament," "This is the Moment," "On My Own," "You Should Be Loved," "Part of That World," "The Next Ten Minutes," and "I Could Have Danced All Night." Group numbers include "Belle," "What Is This Feeling," and "Totally F----d."
"The Showcase was what reeled me into Wig and Buckle last year. It is a wonderful way to show off talented freshmen who haven't been able to be under the spotlight yet," Parrilla said. "It's a very collaborative effort. Everyone has a role in helping the show be successful."
Wig and Buckle was founded in 1935 and is student directed and entirely student-run. The company will also present Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors," directed by Keifer Kemmerly '14, February 15–24, and Bert V. Royal's "Dog Sees God," directed by Rosemary Bucher '14, April 19–28.
