Continuing its commitment to preparing students for professional success in competitive job markets, Wilkes University's Sidhu School of Business and Leadership is introducing accelerated ways that undergraduates can earn their master of business administration degree.

The 4+1 MBA program allows students to earn their bachelor's degree and MBA in just five years. Undergraduate students will begin MBA courses in the final semester of their senior year. Taking three to four courses each semester, students can complete their MBA with just one additional year of study. Requirements include a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25, completion of at least 108 credits and an undergraduate internship.

The PharmD/MBA program allows students in the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy to earn their PharmD and MBA in six years, helping them become a leader in the business of patient care. The program gives students a sound understanding of business practices as well as the in-depth knowledge of the medications, patient communication and physical assessment. Interested students will apply to the MBA program at the end of the spring semester of their first professional year. Requirements include a minimum grade point average of 3.0, the completion of at least 103 credits, and completion of PHA 304 and PHA 335.

"Studies show that students with their MBA enjoy more job opportunities and a higher rate of pay," said Jennifer Edmonds, associate dean and director of graduate programs in the Sidhu School of Business and Leadership. "These new pathways to a Wilkes MBA ensure our students have a distinct blend of leadership, decision-making and communications skills that lend themselves to a variety of professional positions."

The 4+1 and PharmD/MBA programs are available for Wilkes undergraduate students this fall. Interested students can learn more at www.wilkes.edu/wilkesMBA.
