MILTON , MA (11/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Curry College is pleased to announce that Worcester, MA resident Samantha Valletta, daughter of Amy and Steve Valletta, has been cast in Curry Theatre's Fall Main Stage production. A 2010 graduate of Holy Name Junior/ Senior High School and a college junior majoring in Communication, Ms. Valletta has been seen on the Curry Theatre Stage in New Plays 2011, Batboy; The Musical, Almost, Maine, and Twisted Tales. This past summer, Ms. Valletta was chosen for a triple internship in Marketing, Children's Theatre and Scenic Painting, at the renowned Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. With a triple concentration in Public Relations, Television and Theatre, this busy young woman currently serves on the Curry Theatre Supervisory Board as Assistant General Manager/ Publicity Director. She appeared in the college Black Box show in November, while rehearsing the role of Lucy in Alan Ayckbourn's comedy, Woman in Mind.

Knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1997, Sir Alan Ayckbourn is the most widely produced playwright in England, second only to William Shakespeare. His darkly humorous Woman in Mind sees the action of the play through the eyes of the protagonist, as her mundane reality collides with her active fantasy life. Is it a dream turned to nightmare, or does this witty and imaginative woman actively chose the world of delightful distraction, surrounded by the laughter and loving humor of her imaginary daughter, Lucy, played by the sparkling Ms. Valletta?

This wildly unpredictable comedy tumbles across the stage on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; Dec 1st through 4th at 7:30 p.m. at Curry College, in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved at 617-333-2259 (Option 2).
