Worcester, MA Resident Samantha Valletta Joins The New Plays Festival

MILTON , MA (10/31/2012)(readMedia)-- Curry College is pleased to announce that Worcester, MA resident, Samantha Valletta, daughter of Amy and Steve Valletta, will be appearing in the premiere of Samuel Kielty's The Elephant in the Room as part of the college's Sixth Annual New Plays Festival. Valletta is a 2010 graduate of Holy Name Junior/ Senior High School. Currently a junior majoring in Communication, she has been seen on the Curry Theatre Stage in New Plays 2011, Batboy; The Musical, Almost, Maine, and Twisted Tales. Samantha currently serves on the Curry Theatre Supervisory Board as Assistant General Manager/ Publicity Director.

This past summer, Valletta was chosen for a triple internship in Marketing, Children's Theatre and Scenic Painting, at the renowned Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine. Watch for her on the Curry College stage in December, in Alan Ayckbourn's comedy, Woman in Mind!

The Sixth Annual New Plays Festival, showcasing original student 5-10 minute one act plays, will run Saturday, Nov. 10th through Monday, Nov. 12th at 7:30 p.m. at Curry College, in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved at 617-333-2259 (Option 2).

Founded in 1879, Curry College is a private, four-year, liberal arts institution located on 135 acres in Milton, MA. Curry extends its educational programs to a continuing education branch campus in Plymouth, MA. Curry offers 20 undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees in business, education, criminal justice and nursing, with a combined enrollment of approximately 4,150 students. The student body consists of approximately 2,000 traditional undergraduate students, 1,650 continuing education and 500 graduate students. More than 1,400 of its students reside on the Curry campus. The largest majors are business management, communication, nursing, criminal justice and education.
