Youngsters Wrangle To Be First Ever Iowa State Fair Mutton Bustin' Champion
DES MOINES, IA (08/22/2011)(readMedia)-- Future rodeo stars showed their stuff in the first annual Mutton Bustin' competition judged Friday at the 2011 Iowa State Fair. Three rounds of the competition took pace in the Pioneer Livestock Pavilion culminating with a Championship Round at the end of the day.
In the ages 6 to 8 division, Korinna Jansen, 8, of Kellogg earned Grand Champion honors with a score of 80 points. The Reserve Grand Champion award went to Rylee Graden, 8, of Dayton with a score of 78. Third Place Overall went to Cole Scafferi, 8, of Beaman who scored 75.
T.R. Putz, 5, of Otley earned Grand Champion honors in the 5 and under division with a score of 81. The Reserve Grand Champion title went to Ryder Thill, 5, of Pleasantville with a score of 76.
