Community Empowers Young Girls at All Girls Conference
STAUNTON, VA (03/10/2010)(readMedia)-- Your Community Cares All Girl Conference now accepting registrations from young women from Waynesboro, Staunton and Augusta County.
The purpose of the Conference is to help teenage girls make positive life decisions by connecting them with community resources and female role models. This free, one-day event scheduled for April 17th, is sponsored by Staunton Parks and Recreation Department and DuPont Community Credit Union. Features include booths and workshops presented by over 20 different community agencies, breakfast and lunch, and much more! Numerous colleges and universities will be on hand with displays of information planting the seed and encouraging young women for individual future goal setting. This year's Keynote Speaker is Lori Nicholson, Captain of Security at Middle River Regional Jail. Each participant receives a souvenir conference t-shirt and goodie bag. Door prizes will be awarded, including a brand new Nintendo Wii!!!
Girls ages 12-19 are encouraged to register now. Registration forms can picked up from the Booker T. Washington Community Center in Staunton, Staunton Recreation Dept., and all area middle and high schools.
