Youth Cracks Up Judges in State Fair Joke Contest

DES MOINES, IA (08/27/2024) (readMedia)-- Cayle Kelly of West Point won the first place spot in Children's Joke Telling, ages 5-9 years old, held on Friday, August 16, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Mary Anne Adam of Iowa City and Buxton Voss of Ottumwa both won second place.

Oliver Tyrrell of Adel and Olivia Merry of Centerville both took third place.

The contest was part of "Rural Americana Olde Tyme Competitions" in Farm Bureau Pioneer Hall. A first prize of $5 and ribbons were awarded to each class.
