Zbinden Joins ROTC at Hampden-Sydney College

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (11/13/2013)(readMedia)-- On Monday, November 11, on the campus of Hampden-Sydney College, Cadet R. Maxwell Zbinden, H-SC Class of 2015, contracted for a full ROTC scholarship with the U.S. Army. He will pursue a commission as an Army officer and will serve our nation after graduation from Hampden-Sydney. He is a graduate of Goochland High School and is the son of Zack & Karen Zbinden of Crozier.

Cadet Zbinden took his enlistment oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution in front of the Hampden-Sydney Memorial Gates where the names of Hampden-Sydney alumni, who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation, are listed.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked nationally in the top 100 of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
