Zephyr Teachout Joins Survivors to Pledge Era of Accountability in New York State

+ Senator Julia Salazar, incoming CM Rita Joseph, Marissa Hoechstetter, Erica Vladimer, Rita Pasarell + Leah Hebert

NEW YORK, NY (11/17/2021) (readMedia)-- On Wednesday, Zephyr Teachout will join survivors -- including Marissa Hoechstetter, Erica Vladimer, Rita Pasarell and Leah Hebert -- to pledge an era of accountability in New York State. Senator Julia Salazar and incoming Council Member Rita Joseph will also join. Teachout launched her bid for Attorney General earlier this week.

The announcement will be streamed from Teachout's Twitter account, available here.

Survivors of gender based discrimination and violence are routinely failed by institutions like the criminal justice system and JCOPE, and deserve additional protections and access to justice through the civil courts. Survivors will talk about two such solutions to this problem: the Adult Survivors Act and a bill that would eliminate the "license to harass" loophole which exempts the personal staff of elected officials from the New York State Human Rights Law.
