Arley Morelock Receives Final Convocation Award

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (04/28/2011)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 21, Hampden-Sydney College freshman Arley James Morelock received the Rhetoric Essay Award, presented by Dr. Lizabeth A. Rand, Elliott Associate Professor of Rhetoric. The annual Rhetoric Essay contest began in 1996. Each year members of the Rhetoric staff award a prize for the best essay written in each of three Rhetoric classes. Arley's winning essay was entitled, "Why I Read."
A Venable Scholar, Arley plays varsity lacrosse and is a member of the German Club, the Venture Crew, and Habitat for Humanity. Arley graduated from Frankfurt International School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. George L. Morelock of Charlotte.
