Residents Urged to Give Blood to Show They Care by Boosting Regional Blood Supplies
WEST HENRIETTA, NY (05/28/2008; 1311)(readMedia)-- The American Red Cross New York-Penn Blood Services Region will host a special “Community That Cares” blood drive Friday, June 6, Ralph Wilson Stadium, Paul Maguire Club, One Bills Drive, Orchard Park, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. “A Community That Cares” blood drive is a Red Cross initiative, which provides the opportunity for various community groups to come together for a common, larger blood drive.
Appearances of Buffalo Bills team members will occur throughout the blood drive. All presenting donors will receive a limited edition of a Buffalo Bills/American Red Cross commemorative duffle bag. In addition, all presenting donors will be eligible to enter a random drawing to win one of four $250.00 gas cards. The drawing will be held throughout the Region on Friday, July 11.
All current and new donors are strongly urged to call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (1-800-448-3543) or visit www.DonateBloodNow.org to schedule an appointment. Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Sixteen-year-olds may donate blood provided they bring an original signed an Informed Parental Consent for a 16-Year-Old to Donate Whole Blood to the blood drive.
