CSEA Endorses Breslin for Albany County Executive

LATHAM, NY (09/06/2007; 1159)(readMedia)-- CSEA today announced the union’s endorsement of Mike Breslin (D) in the Albany County Executive Race. Mr. Breslin accepted the endorsement from CSEA’s Capital Region President Kathy Garrison.

“Mike Breslin is the clear choice in the upcoming election for Albany County Executive. He is committed to providing efficient services to the residents of Albany County by developing a qualified county workforce,” said Garrison.

“I am grateful for the support of CSEA and its many members with whom I work everyday. I look forward to four more years of working with CSEA to continue to provide critical services in Albany County,” said Albany County Executive Mike Breslin.

CSEA represents approximately 13,000 active and retiree members living in Albany County.

CSEA is informing its members of the endorsement and encouraging their vote in the General Election on November 6.

CSEA is New York State’s leading union, representing employees of New York State and its counties, towns, villages, school districts, library systems, authorities and public corporations. Together with a growing population of private sector members and 50,000 retirees, CSEA forms a union 265,000 strong. It is also the largest affiliate (and Local 1000) of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) which, in turn, is one of the largest affiliates of the AFL-CIO.
