Chairman Mondello Statement on John McCain Presidential Kick Off

ALBANY, NY (06/03/2008; 1711)(readMedia)-- As John McCain officially kicks off his campaign for President, the distinction between Republicans and Democrats has never been clearer.

Republicans are fighting to deliver results on the issues that matter to people—providing relief from property taxes, helping small businesses create jobs, keeping people safe, and ensuring quality health care and educational opportunities.

The Republican Party, nationally and here in New York, is united to address these challenges and support the candidacy of an America patriot and dedicated public servant in John McCain. He has the experience and leadership we need in a challenging and dangerous world.

Conversely, the Democrat Party has conducted one of the least democratic primaries in history, and it has fractured support within their party. Prominent Democrats throughout their primary have publicly proven the case that Barack Obama has questionable judgment and is simply not qualified to lead our nation at this pivotal time in history.

Here in New York, the diligent work of Republicans in the New York State Senate and Assembly to deliver real results to fight taxes, create jobs and ensure a high quality of life is well known within their communities.

With these combined factors, the Republican Party is poised to build on the successes of 2007 and be very successful at the voting booth.
