DARIEN, CT (10/09/2007; 1641)(readMedia)-- Alan DeSantis, president of StreamMySport, is looking for a few student athletes who would be willing to talk on-camera about the college recruiting process.
He’d like you to say on-camera whether you think online recruiting’s time has come.
DeSantis, a longtime videographer and the father of college-bound athletes himself, is launching a new online service to help athletes and college coaches find each other more easily. He wants to eliminate bulky DVDs, videocassettes, and paper in favor of putting athlete videos and profiles on the Web.
“It’s such a shame that student athletes and their families and high school coaches invest so much time and money creating showcase videos that end up sitting on a coach’s desk unseen,” said DeSantis.
DeSantis’ new service, StreamMySport.com, enables student athletes to create in minutes a handsome portfolio to showcase their athletic and academic achievements. Key to the concept is the ability to upload a 10-minute video, created by the student or with the help of StreamMySport. These materials go into the site’s database of accomplished high school athletes in any sport, including Lacrosse, Basketball, Football, Field Hockey, Ice Hockey, Softball, Soccer, Baseball. College sports recruiters can search the database for suitable candidates using their preferred geographic, athletic, sport-specific, and academic parameters.
The new Website, due to launch soon, is accepting free trial requests now. It will offer subscription accounts for athletes wanting to use the service. There is no charge for coaches to register their preferences at the site, or to access, save, or share resulting matches for future consideration.
As soon as the site goes live and the athlete profiles are loaded, StreamMySport will alert registered Coaches of any candidates who meet the criteria they’ve specified.
In the meantime, if you would be willing to provide your thoughts on what the value to you of recruiting this way might be, please visit www.StreamMySport.com or send an email to info@streammysport.com.
StreamMySport is a based in Darien, CT and is hosted by Midhudsonmedia in Hudson, NY.
