Will Feature Live Burn of Simulated Bedroom/Live Fire Rescue
The Office of Fire Prevention and Control, a division of the New York State Department of State, will dedicate a new state-of-the-art live firefighting and arson investigation site Tuesday, October 23rd, in Montour Falls, New York, in Schuyler County. The new building contains a Fire Training Burn Tower and a Fire/Arson Investigation Training Building. The purpose is to provide firefighters with safe but highly realistic fire training opportunities. In the case of arson investigations, live fires will be set and investigators, coming in afterwards, will be trained on how to determine the cause of the fire.
The dedication ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. The building is located at the Senator Frederick L. Warder Academy of Fire Science, at 600 College Avenue, in Montour Falls.
