Deployed National Guard Soldier Home On Leave is Available for Media Interviews

HUDSON FALLS, NY (08/05/2008; 1500)(readMedia)-- Sgt. First Class Frank White, a Fort Edward National Guardsman who is currently deployed to Afghanistan and who is home on leave, will be available to speak with members of the media at his laundromat in Hudson Falls on Thursday, August 7.

What: Sgt. First Class White, who is home on leave from Afghanistan, will speak to members of the press at Main St. Launderette in Hudson Falls. He and his wife have owned and operated the business for five years. Sgt. First Class White and Mrs. White are prepared to talk about his mission in Afghanistan, his membership in the New York National Guard, the challenges of deployment, and the challenges of keeping a small business going when one of the business owners is deployed.

Who: Sgt. First Class Frank White, and Debbie White (his wife of 20 years) will be available for interviews. Their children will also be present.

When: Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11 a.m.

Sgt. First Class Frank White:

Sgt. First Class White currently heads an 11-man Provincial Mentor Team in the town of Deh Rawod in Afghanistan's Uruzgen Province. His team trains members of the Afghan National Army.

He is deployed as part of the New York Army National Guard's 27th Brigade Combat Team which is currently commanding Combined Joint Task Force Phoenix, an element with representatives from 23 nations which trains the Afghan National Army and Police.

He has been a member of the New York Army National Guard for 23 years, and is a platoon sergeant in the New York Army National Guard's 1427th Medium Truck Company, which is based in Whitehall.

He is on leave until next week.
