Grimes Man Reigns as Chili King in State Fair Chili Contest
DES MOINES, IA (09/11/2008; 1330)(readMedia)-- Nick Gardner, Grimes, took first place in the Iowa State Chili Cook Off Contest August 16, at the 2008 Iowa State Fair.
Second place was awarded to Jim Weller, Rockton, Ill., and Tom Gardner, Council Bluffs, took home third place. An honorable mention was given to Kyle Barton, Clive.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Blue Bunny.
