CHADRON, NE (10/25/2008; 1741)(readMedia)-- Chadron State College students Amy Fellhoelter of Broadwater, Neb., and Marco de Souza of Sao Paulo, Brazil, were crowned homecoming queen and king during halftime of Saturday's football game between the Eagles and Colorado Mines.
CSC clubs and organizations nominate candidates and the winners are chosen by a vote of the student body. There were 26 candidates for queen and 25 candidates for king.
Fellhoelter and de Souza are seniors studying toward degrees in business administration.
Fellhoelter was nominated by Student Alumni Council. She is the daughter of Charles and Penny Fellhoelter and a 2004 graduate of Bridgeport High School.
De Souza was nominated by Andrews Residence Hall and is a member of the Eagles' men's basketball team. He is the son of Antonio and Yara de Souza, and a graduate of Colegia Augusto Laranja.
First runners-up are Stephanie Hillman of Rapid City, S.D., and Nathan Stec of Valentine. Bobbi Bath of Douglas, Wyo., and Barrett Hahn are second runners-up. The court was rounded out by Lisa Curtis of Wall, S.D., and Gary Metcalf of Phoenix, Ariz., rounded out the court.
