Innovative Remote Camera Company Expands its Marketplace, Opens Production Facility Despite Tough Times

ROCHESTER, NY (07/30/2008; 1721)(readMedia)-- DigitalXtractions Incorporated, a Rochester-based technology start-up derived from RIT's Venture Creations Incubator program, is a growing company that is breaking new ground with it's Self Contained Internet Remote Camera technology.

Response to its SCIRC t1 wireless camera, which transmits, high-resolution images automatically to the internet using cellular networks has accelerated substantially. With this unprecedented growth, DigitalXtractions has announced the planned opening of its new production facilities at the renovated Station 55 facility on Railroad Street in Rochester, NY. The company plans on initially hiring about 12 new employees and ramping up manpower as needed.

"The growth we're seeing is incredible," says President, Marc Blumenfeld. "When we first introduced our camera to market, our company was valued at $1.2 million dollars. While recently preparing a private placement offering for raising additional capital, our new post money valuation is placed at $4.5 million."

Blumenfeld attributes the phenomenal growth to an untapped need within the marketplace. "Our customers keep validating the need for our product by seeking out what they need using web searches, finding us and buying into our solution.

"Right now we're seeing about 68% of our business coming from General Contractors and Facility Management companies like Dolomite, Hensel Phelps and Pike Industries, says Blumenfeld. "They're searching for new ways to remotely monitor their construction sites and facilities and improve security, productivity and marketing."

Marketing benefits are gained from automatically integrating the project images into their websites so potential clients and existing customers can view live site progress and archives. At the end of each project they can have a time lapse record from ground breaking to the last nail.

Unlike other remote cameras and webcams, DigitalXtractions SCIRC t1 wireless camera allows users to access real-time video and images via any web enabled device including cell phones. No PC or Internet connection is required. The unit can be solar powered and uses a special rechargeable battery.

DigitalXtractions has sold units in 18 States including Alaska and Hawaii. According to Blumenfeld "Some of our newer clients include environmentally sensitive companies like National Renewable Energy labs, US Geological Survey, British Petroleum Alternative Energy, and Wildlife Solutions, Inc," says Blumenfeld. The self-contained SCIRC t1 camera is popular with environmentalists because it was designed using ‘green technology'.

"The only way to really describe what we're experiencing now is that the idea has become ‘viral'. Pretty impressive consider the company does not market or advertise its products and the camera has been extremely well received customers. In fact many of customers buy multiple units after their first because they fit their needs so well."
