Interchange 9 Southbound Ramp Closure Due to Local Event
Detour Route in Effect
ALBANY, NY (09/07/2007; 1341)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that Interchange 9 (Peace Bridge, Canada, Porter Ave) southbound ramp will be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 due to a local parade. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Interchange 8 (Niagara Street).
Southbound motorists looking to access the Peace Bridge via Interchange 9 (Peace Bridge, Canada, Porter Ave) will be redirected to Interchange 8 (Niagara Street) and then directed back on to I-190 north to the Peace Bridge.
Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be activated to inform motorists of the ramp closure and detour.
