Friday Night’s $196 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Tenth Largest in Game History

The New York Lottery is teaming up with the New York Mets to introduce New York City’s newest Lottery Millionaires. The winners representing Staten Island, Queens, and Brooklyn will receive their prize checks on the field at Shea Stadium as part of Thursday’s pre-game activities. Lottery Millionaire Winners to receive their checks include:

• A 37-year-old physical therapist from Staten Island who won his $2,000,000 on the $2,000 a Week For Life ticket.

• A 42-year-old tractor mechanic from Queens who won his $1,000,000 prize on the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas game.

• A 45-year-old real estate agent from Brooklyn who won her $1,000,000 prize on the $500M Extravaganza game.

To Announce New York Lottery Mega Millions Milestones:

• The jackpot for this Friday night’s $196 million Mega Millions drawing now ranks as the tenth largest in game history.

• Sales of Mega Millions tickets in New York just topped the ONE BILLION DOLLAR MARK ($1.01 billion) in aid contributed to education since the New York Lottery became a member of the twelve state game in May, 2002.
