ALBANY, NY (10/11/2007; 1003)(readMedia)-- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Pete Grannis, will join Region 6 Director Judy Drabicki, Region 7 Director Ken Lynch, and Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation staff for a significant environmental announcement regarding the Eastern Lake Ontario Barrier Beach on Friday, Oct. 12, at 10 a.m. at Southwick Beach State Park on the shores of Lake Ontario, in Jefferson County.

Directions:
From the North: Take State Route 3 southwest out of Watertown. Continue about 20 miles to the Southwick Beach State Park entrance on the right.
From the South: Take State Highway 81 north. Exit at Pierrepont Manor. Turn west onto route 193 for 8 miles to the State Park entrance on Route 3.
