National Guard Car on Display at Orange County Speedway

MIDDLETOWN, NY (04/24/2008; 0800)(readMedia)-- The #88 National Guard car, a display model of the car NASCAR star Dale Earhart Jr. drives, will be on display at the Orange County Speedway on April 26.

WHO: New York Army National Guard Recruiting.

WHAT: Making the National Guard car available for public display at the Orange County Speedway during Saturday Night Dirt Track Racing.

WHEN: April 26, starting at 4 p.m.

WHERE: Orange County Fair Grounds, 100 Carpenter Ave., Middletown NY

BACKGROUND:

The National Guard sponsors Dale Earnhardt Jr. and the No. 88 National Guard/AMP Energy Team as a way to draw attention to the opportunities for service to community, state and nation, that the National Guard offers young men and women. At the team’s most recent race, in Phoenix on April 12, the 88 car finished 7th and is currently in third place in NASCAR point standings.

The display car events provide NASCAR fans the chance to examine a racing car up close and National Guard members will be on hand to talk about New York Army National Guard opportunities.
