New York State Council On Food Policy To Meet October 29

Council to Meet in Albany to Review Draft Recommendations

ALBANY, NY (10/27/2008; 1629)(readMedia)-- The New York State Council on Food Policy will hold its annual fall meeting on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm in Room 250 of the New York State Capitol Building.

In June, the Council formed work groups to examine the public listening tour input as well as state and national food policy trends. At this meeting, each work group will present their findings to the full Council for consideration. The listening tour input and work group draft recommendations are available on the New York State Council on Food Policy website at http://www.nyscfp.org.

The Council is tasked to establish new food policies for the State that will help ensure the availability of safe, fresh, nutritious and affordable food for all New Yorkers, especially low income individuals, senior citizens and children.

The meeting is open to the public for observation. Anyone interested in attending this meeting must RSVP by October 28 by calling the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets at 518-485-7728 or emailing maryann.stockman@agmkt.state.ny.us.
