New York State Helps High Schoolers Ace Their Finals

Regents Exam Prep Available on TV and the Web

ALBANY, NY (04/16/2008; 1439)(readMedia)-- The New York State Higher Education Services Corp. (HESC) -- the state agency that helps people pay for college -- is for the ninth year supporting a television program and a Web site to help high school students prepare for the rigorous statewide Regents exams in June.

Students and families can go to HESC.org and click on the "Regents Review Live!" link for a schedule of the helpful and entertaining programs being shown on public broadcast stations around the state.

The “Regents Review Live!” programs and the Web site give students instruction and guidance for taking the nine Regents exams in subjects ranging from math to world history.

“I urge all students to watch the review programs on their local public television station and visit our Web site to better prepare for these important tests,” said James C. Ross, HESC’s president.

“Getting good grades on these final exams will help students establish their academic credentials, which colleges in New York State review very carefully,” Ross added.

Free college and career planning help, federal and state financial aid information, and online applications for government grants, scholarships, and student or parent loans are all available for students and families at www.hesc.org.
