Kids Can Take Dad Out to the Ball Game by Entering Art Contest
ALBANY, NY (05/05/2008; 1509)(readMedia)-- The State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), Parent Help and the Syracuse Chiefs are sponsoring an art/photo contest highlighting the important roles fathers and family play in children’s lives.
Everyone who enters will receive two tickets to the June 23 Chiefs game. A grand prize winner will be selected and get to have their father throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the game.
The contest is open to students in grades K-12. Entrants should create an original work of art, or photograph, representing one of two themes – “When Dad’s in the Game, Kids Win,” or, “Families That Play Together, Stay Together.” The deadline for submissions is June 9.
Compete rules and an official entry form can be found at www.dads.ny.gov.
All submissions will also be entered into a statewide contest being sponsored by OTDA and Parent Help. The statewide contest winners will be featured in a “Family Calendar” that will be distributed throughout New York State.
