Project Description:

The NYS Office of General Services Design & Construction Group intends to contract with a design consultant firm to consulting and design services for design documents and construction administration for the replacement of all the piping and plumbing fixtures and any appurtenant work in Cell Block H of Clinton Correctional Facility. Cell Block H is a masonry, 6 story structure built in 1951. It contains 100,000 Sq. Ft. and about 530 inmate cells with a utility chase rising up the center with catwalks at each level servicing all plumbing fixtures on 2 sides. The scope will include complete program, design development, design, specifications, field survey, estimating and construction administration/support activities to provide new domestic water piping, waste piping and security plumbing fixtures and equipment for Cell Block H. Compliance with applicable NYS codes and appropriate penal and institutional design standards are required.

Title Construction Management Services - Rehabilitate Office Building Project Description The New York State Office of General Services Design & Construction Group is seeking letters of interest from construction management firms to oversee the interior and exterior renovations of the Department of Labor Building at 250 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, NY. The building is a five-story office building constructed in 1963. The general scope of the work in this renovation includes interior upgrades, window replacement, addition of thermal insulation to the exterior walls, complete HVAC system replacement, electrical service entrance upgrade, replacement lighting, power distribution upgrades, sprinkler system, related plumbing and drainage upgrades, roof replacement and abatement of all existing hazardous materials. The construction will be done in two phases. Phase I will include roof replacement and related roof work such as HVAC equipment and penthouse construction and the complete renovation of the 5th floor. Also included in Phase I are infrastructure upgrades to accommodate the phasing as a “top down” process while the building is still occupied and in operation. Phase II will include the 4th through 1st floor renovation, in that order. The anticipated total construction cost of the project is approximately $16,000,000. Construction management services may include constructability review, cost projections and review, value engineering, bid-document review, full time on site field supervision including CPM scheduler, project manager, project engineer, MEP and construction superintendents/inspectors. The planning design and construction work may need to be phased. This will be a multi-contract project.
