OGS To Award Over $10.1 Million In New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Four New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (04/10/2008; 1705)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 12 contracts representing more than $10.1 MILLION in new construction, providing work in four counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ONEIDA COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to renovate dormitory, Building No. 16 at the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY.

Construction: Richard E. Alexander Co., Inc. of Marcy, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $2,785,480.

Electrical: O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $1,734,101.

Heating and Ventilation: H.J. Brandeles Corp. of Utica, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $900,000.

Plumbing: Bellucci Enterprises Inc. of Cicero, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $1,076,000.

Construction and electrical contracts were bid to provide new loading dock canopy Building No. 108 at the New York State School for the Deaf in Rome, NY.

Construction: D. Hillman & Sons LLC of Bouckville, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $48,650.

Electrical: Bagnall Electric, Inc. of Sherburne, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $9,870.

QUEENS COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide kitchen improvements, Building No. 41 at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village, NY.

Construction: Sundeep Construction Co., Inc. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $841,254.

Electrical: J.H.S. Electric Services Inc. of Bellmore, NY was the apparent low bidder out of 13 firms. The low bid was $164,154.

Heating and Ventilation: KMA Group Inc of Long Island City, NY was the apparent low bidder out of 12 firms. The low bid was $290,900.

Plumbing: KMA Group Inc of Long Island City, NY was the apparent low bidder out of twelve firms. The low bid was $95,700.

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY

A construction contract to replace standing seam metal roofs-phase I Building Nos. 12 - 19 and 23 at the Gouverneur Correctional Facility in Gouverneur, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, RSI Roofing, Inc. of Gouverneur, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $2,036,700.

WYOMING COUNTY

An electrical contract to upgrade transformer recycle Building No. 158 at the Wyoming Correctional Facility in Attica, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, Kaplan-Schmidt Electric, Inc. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $197,355.
