Work to Commence in Seven New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (04/24/2008; 1228)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 13 contracts representing more than $11.5 MILLION in new construction, providing work in seven counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
BROOME COUNTY
Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to rehabilitate parking garage and related systems at the Binghamton Governmental Center in Binghamton, NY.
Construction: Crane Hogan Structural Systems, Inc. of Spencerport, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $6,690,262.
Electrical: NELCORP Electrical Contracting Corp. of Endwell, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $1,107,600.
Heating and Ventilation: J & K Plumbing & Heating Co., Inc. of Binghamton, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $887,300.
Plumbing: Postler & Jaeckle Corp. of Rochester, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $609,000.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
Electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to replace boilers and hydronic piping at the State Armory in Saranac Lake, NY.
Electrical: William J. Murray, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $18,000.
Heating and Ventilation: Burns Bros. Contractors, Inc. of Potsdam, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $99,692.
Plumbing: L.H. LaPlante Company, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $12,000.
GREENE COUNTY
Electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to rehabilitate plumbing system cell blocks a and b at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility in West Coxsackie, NY.
Electrical: Brownell Electric Corp. of Fort Edward, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $19,400.
Plumbing: Merit Plumbing & Heating, LLC of Albany, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $1,757,700.
MADISON COUNTY
An electrical contract to provide generator, maintenance Building No. 26 at the Camp Georgetown in Georgetown, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $79,500.
RICHMOND COUNTY
A heating and ventilation contract to upgrade tank monitoring system Building Nos. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 14 & 15 at the South Beach Psychiatric Center in Staten Island, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, Environmental & Fueling Sys., LLC of Troy, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $86,700.
ST LAWRENCE COUNTY
A construction contract to replace powerhouse roof at the Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg, NY was bid by six firms. Of those six, PTL Contracting Corp. of Theresa, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $68,700.
WYOMING COUNTY
A construction contract to replace storm water outfall at the Attica Correctional Facility in Attica, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, Gardenville Landscape & Nursery LLC of West Seneca, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $89,750.
