Work to Commence in Six New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (09/19/2007; 1140)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for eight contracts representing more than $2.3 MILLION in new construction, providing work in six counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
BRONX COUNTY
A construction contract to repair water leakage at stairwell at the Fulton Correctional Facility in Bronx, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, Tuckahoe Construction Corp. of Yonkers, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $271,100.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY
A construction contract to repair damaged walls and padding, gymnasium Building No. 3 at the Lakeview Correctional Facility in Brocton, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, STC Construction, Inc. of Springville, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $202,000.
FULTON COUNTY
Construction and electrical contracts were bid to replace bar screen at the Hale Creek Correctional Facility in Johnstown, NY.
Construction: J & A Bayly Construction Company, Inc. of East Greenbush, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $195,530.
Electrical: FPI Electrical, Inc. of Cohoes, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $36,700.
ONONDAGA COUNTY
Construction and plumbing contracts were bid to repair floor drains and oil/water separator and upgrade water service, maintenance headquarters at the DOT Region 3, Onondaga County in North Syracuse, NY.
Construction: John R. Wilkins Constr., Inc. of Syracuse, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $267,800.
Plumbing: Brosh Mechanical, Inc. of Liverpool, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $153,300.
RICHMOND COUNTY
A construction contract to provide exterior renovations at the State Armory in Staten Island, NY was bid by 14 firms. Of those 14, Maximus 1 Contracting Corp. of Long Island City, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,160,000.
WESTCHESTER COUNTY
A construction contract to repair 42,000 gallon fuel oil tank Building No. 26, power house at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in Bedford Hills, NY was bid by four firms. Of those four, UAP Inc. of Poughquag, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $47,300.
