OGS To Award Over $3.3 Million In New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Four New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (08/28/2008; 1047)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for four contracts representing more than $3.3 MILLION in new construction, providing work in four counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. Two of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ALBANY COUNTY

A construction contract to replace roof at the DMNA Headquarters in Latham, NY was bid by six firms. Of those six, Universal Builders General Contractors, Inc. of Canisteo, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $880,762.

QUEENS COUNTY

A construction contract to abate asbestos containing pipe insulation and pipe jacket material, steam tunnel, Building No.76 at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village, NY was bid by six firms. Of those six, Suburban Restoration Co., Inc. of Hawthorne, NJ was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $246,484.

RICHMOND COUNTY

A construction contract to provide exterior renovations at the State Armory in Staten Island, NY was bid by eight firms. Of those eight, A.B.C.D. Construction Corp. of Brooklyn, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,527,300.

ST LAWRENCE COUNTY

A construction contract to replace roof at the State Armory in Ogdensburg, NY was bid by three firms. Of those three, Titan Roofing, Inc. of Chicopee, MA was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $738,700.
