OGS To Award Over $4.7 Million In New Construction Contracts

Work to Commence in Six New York Counties

ALBANY, NY (10/03/2007; 1210)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 12 contracts representing more than $4.7 MILLION in new construction, providing work in six counties of New York.

The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.

The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:

ERIE COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to replace showers Building Nos. 9, 10, 11, 13, 15 & 16 at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden, NY.

Construction: Patrick Development, Inc. of E. Amherst, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $1,279,900.

Electrical: O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $75,700.

Heating and Ventilation: John W. Danforth Company of Tonawanda, NY was the apparent low bidder out of one firm. The low bid was $152,900.

Plumbing: Mollenberg-Betz Inc. of Buffalo, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $440,704.

FRANKLIN COUNTY

A construction contract to replace sewer line, Building No. 3 at the Sunmount Developmental Disabilities in Tupper Lake, NY was bid by two firms. Of those two, Lash Contracting, Inc. of Latham, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $36,900.

MADISON COUNTY

A construction contract to tire remediation at the Title Town Tires in Canastota, NY was bid by nine firms. Of those nine, Titan Wrecking & Environmental, LLC of Kenmore, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $279,000.

ONEIDA COUNTY

Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide stp program space special housing unit, Building No. 125-'s' block at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy, NY.

Construction: George A. Nole & Son, Inc. of Utica, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $673,800.

Electrical: Kogut Electric, Inc. of Utica, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $256,380.

Heating and Ventilation: Spectrum HVAC & Mechanical, Inc. of Albion, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $158,040.

Plumbing: 514 Potter Avenue Corp. d/b/a Superior Plbg. & Htg. of Utica, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $122,890.

ORANGE COUNTY

A construction contract to repair 'h' compound drainage system at the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility in Warwick, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, Kingsley Arms, Inc. of Schaghticoke, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $276,075.

ULSTER COUNTY

A construction contract to repair gym roof and masonry, Building No. 12 at the Wallkill Correctional Facility in Wallkill, NY was bid by eight firms. Of those eight, Glenview Construction, Inc. of Wallkill, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,040,300.
