Work to Commence in Four New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (02/07/2008; 1326)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 13 contracts representing more than $5.1 MILLION in new construction, providing work in four counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
ALBANY COUNTY
A plumbing contract to job order contracting - area 3 - various locations at the Term Contract in Albany, NY was bid by one firm. DiGesare Mechanical, Inc. of Schenectady, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $500,000.
Heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to job order contracting - area 5 - various locations at the Term Contract in Albany, NY.
Heating and Ventilation: HMI Mechanical Systems, Inc. of Lyons, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $750,000.
Plumbing: John R. Wilkins Constr., Inc. of Syracuse, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $500,000.

A construction contract to paint water storage tank at the Lakeview Shock Incarceration Facility in Brocton, NY was bid by nine firms. Of those nine, United Eagle Painting Corp. of Tonawanda, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $310,000.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
Construction, electrical and plumbing contracts were bid to provide truck bay extension maintenance headquarters at the DOT Region 7, Franklin County in Malone, NY.
Construction: J.T. Erectors, LLC of Malone, NY was the apparent low bidder out of six firms. The low bid was $369,500.
Electrical: Dow Electric, Inc. of Malone, NY was the apparent low bidder out of eight firms. The low bid was $29,990.
Plumbing: L.H. LaPlante Company, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $18,172.
OSWEGO COUNTY
A construction contract to provide epdm roofing system on roofs "a" and "b", building no. 1, mh at the DOT Region 3, Oswego County in Mexico, NY was bid by ten firms. Of those ten, PTL Contracting Corp. of Theresa, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $145,500.
