Work to Commence in Four New York Counties
ALBANY, NY (03/06/2008; 1142)(readMedia)-- New York State Office of General Services Commissioner John C. Egan today announced the awarding of bids for 11 contracts representing more than $6.9 MILLION in new construction, providing work in four counties of New York.
The contracts are expected to be awarded to the apparent low bidders following the normal process of review and approval by the State Comptroller's Office. All but one of the low bidders are New York State firms.
The projects and apparent low bidders are described in the following listing by county:
ALBANY COUNTY
Construction and electrical contracts were bid to rehabilitate parking garage at the Swan Street Building in Albany, NY.
Construction: National Restoration Systems, Inc. of Mansfield, MA was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $4,482,750.
Electrical: Northwild Systems, Inc. dba State Electric of Troy, NY was the apparent low bidder out of seven firms. The low bid was $259,672.
An electrical contract to renovate primary transformer a main substation at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, O'Connell Electric Company of Victor, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $1,327,600.
CLINTON COUNTY
Construction, electrical, heating and ventilation and plumbing contracts were bid to provide addition to waste water treatment plant Building No. 3 at the Altona Correctional Facility in Altona, NY.
Construction: Scharf Construction, Inc. of Malone, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $130,900.
Electrical: S & L Electric, Inc. of Colton, NY was the apparent low bidder out of five firms. The low bid was $26,490.
Heating and Ventilation: L.H. LaPlante Company, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $14,030.
Plumbing: L.H. LaPlante Company, Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $18,250.
SENECA COUNTY
A construction contract to replace roof, Building No. 96 at the Willard Drug Treatment Center in Willard, NY was bid by five firms. Of those five, Massa Construction, Inc. of Geneva, NY was the apparent low bidder with a bid of $237,900.
WASHINGTON COUNTY
Construction, electrical and heating and ventilation contracts were bid to provide program space for icp expansion Building No. 9, school at the Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, NY.
Construction: Murnane Building Contrs., Inc. of Plattsburgh, NY was the apparent low bidder out of four firms. The low bid was $329,100.
Electrical: Brownell Electric Corp. of Fort Edward, NY was the apparent low bidder out of three firms. The low bid was $33,570.
Heating and Ventilation: R.F. Gordon Mechanical, Inc. of So. Glens Falls, NY was the apparent low bidder out of two firms. The low bid was $83,450.
